Kerebic

Kerebic is the indispensable Turkish dessert of Ramadan in Myrtle. Its fame has spread throughout Turkey as a Turkish sweet in recent years. It has become a desert in Turkey with a geographical indication registration certificate. The dough is kneaded with semolina, oil, baking soda, and sugar, then made with pistachio or walnut according to your palate, by skilled hands. It is served with cream made from celandine roots and cinnamon sprinkled on top. 



Zulbiye

It attracts attention with its different taste as a Turkish dessert in Turkey. It is made only during Ramadan in Bergama, İzmir. Zulbiye the Turkish dessert sweetens the iftar meal (fasting-breaking dinners during Ramadan). This Turkish sweet is made from specially prepared dough and the producers start working right after sahur time (the meal eaten before starting to fast in Ramadan) to the high demands, feverish work is carried out until the iftar time. Zülbiye the Turkish dessert, known as the ‘Ramadan dessert’ in Izmir Bergama, can also be sent by cargo to its enthusiasts in different cities.


Kunefe

Kunefe is one of the desserts of Turkey, Hatay with a geographical indication registration certificate. It is among the indispensables of iftar tables with its hot sherbet and unsalted cheese, which tastes better as it gets longer. Hatay has been included in the "Creative Cities Network" in the field of gastronomy by UNESCO. Special unsalted cheese is placed between the wire kadayif. It is fried with butter, and a sweet sherbet (sugar syrup) is poured onto it. It can be consumed plain or with pistachio.



Baklava

Baklava is an important Turkish dessert that has taken its place in local cuisine. It is made by placing walnuts, pistachios, almonds, or hazelnuts, depending on the region, between thin phyllo dough. It is generally sweetened with sugar syrup. Some commercial companies use their own special syrups as well as honey syrup.



Sutlac (Turkish Rice Pudding)

Sutlac is one of the best Turkish desserts in Turkey. It simply contains milk, rice, and granulated sugar. In Turkey, it is generally preferred after iftar during Ramadan, as it relieves the stomach, and it is a light Turkish dessert. Sutlac is the most preferred Turkish pudding which can be divided into bowls and consumed when it cools or consumed after being divided into pots, cooked in the oven for a little bit of browning on the top, and cooled to eat.


 


Ashura

Ashura is prepared by boiling legumes such as wheat, beans, chickpeas, apricots, figs, and nuts together. It is one of the most preferred Turkish sweet puddings. There is a tradition named after this Turkish sweet pudding; therefore, the cooking and distribution of this food are made in the month of Muharram according to the Hijri calendar. Any nuts, dried or regular fruit can be added on top. You can also add in anything you want to.
