Mt. Ararat

Lesser Mt. Ararat and Greater Mt. Ararat are two separate mountains that make up Mount Ararat. Both are compound inactive volcanoes. Greater Mt Ararat, which has a height of 5,137 meters, is the highest mountain in Turkey (16,854 ft). Greater Mt Ararat is 3,896 meters high (12,782 ft). Many revere these mountains in Turkey as the alleged location of Noah's Ark because of their distinguished history. Ararat Mountain in Turkey is deeply associated with religion. The Book of Genesis relates that during the time of the great flood, Noah's Ark settled there.

Winter climbs are also possible, although July to September is the greatest time to go climbing. Only skilled climbers with the necessary gear should undertake the entire route. If you'd rather relax in the background with a beautiful view of Turkey’s highest mountain, Dogubeyazit, a neighboring town, is attractive year-round and is close to the Ishak Pasha Palace and other ancient monuments.

Suphan

North of Lake Van in the Van province of eastern Turkey, Mt. Suphan is an inactive volcano. The lake and the valley below can be seen from the peak, which is 4,058 meters (13,314 ft) high mountain in Turkey. Mt. Suphan is the second-highest mountain in Anatolia after Mt. Ararat and the third-largest mountain in Turkey.

Due to the lack of a significant concentration of ski resorts, this Turkish mountain is covered in snow and is comparatively unspoiled during the winter. Compared to other mountains in Turkey, trekking is relatively simple in the summer because the mountain's sandstone surface doesn't require special equipment as a cliff or rock face would.

The expansive Lake Van, a stunning lake that may be explored at one's speed, is directly below.

Pontic (North Anatolian Mountains) – Kackar

The Pontic Mountains, also known as the North Anatolian Mountains, are a chain of folded mountains in Turkey in the north that mainly run parallel to the Black Sea coast. These Turkish mountains are typically low on the west side, rarely rising over 1,500 meters, but south of Rize, they rise easterly to heights of more than 3,000 meters. These mountain ranges of Turkey are characterized by long, trough-like troughs and basins. In the direction of the Black Sea, rivers flow towards these Turkish mountains. The northern slopes have rich growths of both deciduous and evergreen trees, whereas the southern slopes, which face the Anatolian Plateau, are mostly devoid of the forest.

The Kackar Mountains are a range of Turkish mountains that mirror the Alps and are in northern Turkey, close to the Black Sea. They are the highest portion of the Pontic Mountain chain, with Mt. Kackar, its tallest peak, rising to a height of 3,937 meters (12,917 ft). In 1994, the region was designated as a national park. Skiing, snowboarding, and even heli-skiing are popular wintertime activities. While in the summer, the extensive paths offer opportunities for mountain climbing, trekking, hiking, camping, and walking among breathtaking peaks and verdant valleys.

Taurus – Demirkazik

Turkish name "Toros," the Taurus Mountains are a chain of Turkish mountains in Turkey's Mediterranean region that extend almost parallel to the shore for 560 kilometers (348 miles) and serve as the southern limit of the Anatolian plateau. It is second chain of folded mountains in Turkey after the Pontus Mountains, rising at the westernmost range of the Great Himalayas. The range begins from Egridir Lake in the West and, following a significant arc, stretches to the upper side of the Euphrates (Firat) River in the East. Anti-Taurus is the name of its north-eastern extension that crosses the Seyhan river close to Adana. A component of the Adalar Range, which is a part of the larger Taurus Mountains, is the Demirkazik Mountain in the Anatolian region of Kayseri, with a height of 3,756 meters (12,323 ft). The summit, which is well-known among mountaineers, was first attained in 1927. Demirkazik is best climbed between July and September. It is advised that only experienced climbers with the necessary equipment attempt this climb.

Uludag

The highest peak in western Anatolia, Uludag, is easily accessible from nearby Bursa via road and cable car. A popular winter ski destination for both domestic and foreign tourists is Uludag. Kartaltepe, which has an elevation of 2,543 meters, is the highest summit (8,343 ft). Visitors swarm to the area during the spring and summer seasons to take in a natural beauty and rich history of the area. With the hills and valleys covered with green hills and a variety of bird species, including the uncommon Tengmalm's owl, camping and trekking are popular activities. The miraculous Byzantine monk Saint Joannicius the Great dwelt alone on Uludag Mountain. There are numerous historical Christian relics in the adjacent Bursa city and the northern Black Sea region.

Erciyes

Mt. Erciyes, located close to Kayseri, is an active volcano; nonetheless, its most recent eruption occurred around 6880 BCE. In the winter, when heavy snowfalls turn the slope into a winter wonderland ideal for skiing, snowboarding, and other winter snow sports, Mt. Erciyes is a popular tourist attraction, especially for mountains in Turkey. This Turkish mountain is covered in greenery in the spring and summer, making it the ideal location for hiking, camping, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities.

Palandoken

The eastern Turkish province of Erzurum is home to Palandoken Mountain, which is only 10 kilometers away. Palandoken is a great getaway location year-round because it is conveniently located close to the city. It is completely covered in snow throughout the winter, making it a playground for all kinds of snow sports. The length of the ski runs, the caliber of the snowfall, and the steepness of the slopes make this skiing some of the best in the world. Due to the peak's height and interior-Anatolian location, the ski season can last far into May. It shouldn't be missed in the summer when the snow melts and leaves behind rich vegetation ideal for mountain climbing and hiking.
